There are currently 231 prisoners on Death Row in Pennsylvania. Of the 231 Death Row prisoners, 141 are black, 70 are white, 18 are Latino and 2 are Asian. Out of the 231 prisoners on Death Row, 5 of them are women. These numbers are an indicator that our justice system may very well be racial & gender biased.

The death penalty drags victims' families through decades of uncertainty, risks the execution of the innocent, is applied unfairly, and wastes taxpayer dollars.

Furthermore, Pennsylvania's death penalty system is broken beyond repair. Executions do not make us safer as a society, and the money wasted on the death penalty system should be spent on services to crime victims and their families, more support for law enforcement and on crime prevention.
