Alter middle and High School Starting Times for Better Student Health

The Issue

Years of research have shown that early school start times can have negative effects on students’ health, academic performance, and overall well-being. Schools should start at 9:00 a.m. or so to better align with students' biological sleep rhythms. Despite this, most schools start earlier, causing children to lose important sleep and contributing to many issues such as poor grades. By changing school start times, we can offer our children a healthier lifestyle and improved performance in their studies. We urge lawmakers and education authorities to consider the scientific evidence and prioritise the health of our students. Please sign this petition to promote the change in school starting times.
