Our voices as Walmart Employees qneed to be heard as part of a corporate mechanism that too often overlooks the comfort and needs of its human components: the front-end employees. This petition is not just about implementing a slight dress code change, but about acknowledging our basic human needs to feel comfortable in our workplace. For employees who spend hours on their feet, restrictive clothing can add to the discomfort endured in an environment that might already be far from ideal.

It is undeniable that a comfortable work environment can enhance productivity. According to a study by Cornell University, when the work environment is optimized for comfort, there is a reduction in mistakes and work-related injuries, leading to increased productivity (Cornell University, 2004). Therefore, this proposal is not only in our personal interests as employees but also in the interest of the organization's productivity level.

The request here is simple: Allow front-end employees to wear shorts year-round, not just during summer. We believe that comfort should not be seasonal. I know it is in your least interest to be worried about the employees comfort when you have a company to run,  but please we urge you to have some understanding.
