Allow Valerie to get Snapchat this summer

Allow Valerie to get Snapchat this summer
The Issue
Valerie is on the brink of senior year, a pivotal and memorable time in high school life. Yet, she's missing out on a key modern day social connection – Snapchat. This is an app that not only allows her to stay in touch with friends but also helps in fostering creativity through its various features. Moreover, as someone who's always been responsible, it feels only fair that she should be permitted to enjoy this digital experience, just like her older brother did when he was her age.
While we fully understand and respect her parents' concerns about social media, it is important to acknowledge that Snapchat is more than just a social app. It's a platform that allows for safe interaction, provided that it is used responsibly. Snapchat has various privacy settings and parental controls that can help monitor and ensure a safe environment for Valerie.
Additionally, senior year is a time where memories are made, and much of today's communication and sharing of those memories occur online. Not having Snapchat puts Valerie at a disadvantage, as she cannot be as engaged in group discussions, share moments, or even gain an organizational edge with features like group chats and reminders.
We propose a solution where Valerie can have limited access initially. Her parents can set boundaries, check-ins for reviewing activities, and guide her in using Snapchat responsibly. This could be a great opportunity for Valerie to demonstrate her capability in handling responsibilities while staying connected to her peer group.
Valerie has shown herself to be trustworthy, and this request is a step toward fostering her social development and independence as she approaches adulthood. We ask for your support to convince her parents to allow Valerie to get Snapchat for her senior year and make her high school experience as rich and connected as possible.
Please sign this petition to help Valerie join the digital conversation with her friends in her senior year of high school.
