Allow Ulta Beauty Employees Express Their Individuality; The Possibilities Are Beautiful
Allow Ulta Beauty Employees Express Their Individuality; The Possibilities Are Beautiful
The Issue
Starting June 1st 2023 Ulta Beauty, A makeup retailer who says they love for people to find and express their individuality, will be taking away their employees ability to express their own individuality while still following dress code. Starting June 1st employees will no longer be allowed to wear any print or patterns, bottoms/pants MUST be black and black only. Tops cannot be printed or patterned in ANY WAY and must be a solid color matching dress-code colors. Taking away the ability to express individuality in the workplace.
Ulta corporate is doing this because corporate feels as if customers/guests cannot distinguish guests from employees. As if employees wearing name-tags and bright pink/orange lanyards that say "ulta beauty" on them is not enough of a distinguishable feature.
Meanwhile the guests themselves have ZERO ISSUE spotting the difference between another guest and a employee.
Corporate is also doing this because they feel and thing that because Ulta carries brands like Channel, Coach & Dior that their employees must reflect that "high-end/prestige" look.
Taking a second to look back on those previously mentioned brands FASHION HISTORY it would show a combination of different patterns and prints, different fabrics layered and mixed with one another; show casing the brand and designers individuality. Something of wich Ulta Beauty wants their guests to do. But NOT THEIR EMPLOYEES
Ulta Beauty wants to uphold this 'high-end' look while at the same time allowing their corporate managers that travel around to different stores to wear jeans and a t-shirt, not only poorly reflecting how they would like their employees to dress but also showing blatant favoritism and hypocrisy
Corporate higher-ups that have office positions are allowed to wear patterns and prints but yet their retail employees cannot.
By signing this petition you will help prove to Ulta that employees can still hold up high-end professionalism WHILE ALSO expressing their individuality by wearing patterns and prints in the work place. If the people higher up can wear patterns and prints while doing their office job for Ulta Beauty; Their actual retail employees should be able to wear patterns and prints! Patterns and prints ARE PROFESSIONAL!
