I am a student who loves music. It's my escape, my inspiration, and my motivation. I use my Airpods connected to my phone to listen to music, but unfortunately, this is not allowed in our school. This rule has always been a source of frustration for me and many other students.

In today's digital age where technology is an integral part of our lives, it seems outdated to ban phones and Airpods in schools. Not only do they serve as tools for communication but also as resources for learning. A study by the London School of Economics found that banning mobile phones could improve test scores, however it also noted that this might not be applicable in all contexts or with all students.

Moreover, listening to music can have numerous benefits on cognitive performance and mood enhancement according to research published by the University of Central Florida. For some students like myself, it helps us concentrate better on our tasks.

We are not asking for unrestricted use but rather a more flexible policy that allows us responsible usage during appropriate times such as breaks or independent study periods. We believe this will foster an environment that respects individual learning styles while teaching us how to manage digital distractions responsibly.
