The Issue

As a student in Brookfield High School, I often find myself with no work to do during Independent Learning Time (ILT). During these periods, the only option available is to use my laptop, which can be uninteresting, compared to my phone. I'm not alone in this experience; many students share similar feelings but we're restricted from using our phone in this free period besides Study hall.

We fully understand the disruption phones can cause when there's work to be done. To address this, we propose a balanced solution: when we need to work, we can voluntarily put our phones in pouches, maintaining discipline and responsibility

We are proposing a revision to the current rule, allowing the freedom to use phones during ILT, without detracting from our education. By signing this petition, we hope the school administration understands our perspective and reconsiders this policy. Please show your support by signing this petition today.
