Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there have been many restrictions put in place in our school. However, now that many of the covid restrictions are lifting including mask mandates many clubs and sports teams are now allowed to travel by bus to indoor environments such as other schools across our county to participate in different events. 

Despite the fact that so many other students and clubs are allowed to gather and travel together, our Bioventures class is still not allowed to go on overnight outdoor camping trips. 

Almost all of the students enrolled in the Bioventures program took this class to be able to experience nature and the outdoors. This class is supposed to be outdoor education-based, but without being permitted to camp, we are losing a big portion of the outdoor experience.

If students are not wearing masks in schools, and clubs are allowed to travel together, then why can't our class who are bubbled together go on overnight outdoor trips? 

We would like this policy to be reviewed with the Director of Education and the SMDHU, along with a logical reason be provided as to why this rule is in place.
