Our senior year is supposed to be a memorable, once-in-a-lifetime experience filled with joy, anticipation, and celebration of our hard work. However, the reality we face is quite different. Since freshman year, we've joked about having our prom in the parking lot. Unfortunately, as our final year unfolds, this joke is dangerously close to becoming our reality. With a new sponsor each year, and paperwork issues compounding our challenges, achieving the senior year of our dreams feels nearly impossible.

Traditionally, the senior class raises funds through a series of events to ensure we can afford a proper prom, a senior trip, and a senior award night. These events are not just milestones in our educational journey; they symbolize our transition from high school to the wider world. Raising funds through a car wash has been one of our most successful endeavor, consistently bringing in substantial amounts to cover these costs.

However, the rights to this pivotal fundraising activity are now being taken from us. Our assistant director has decided to allocate the car wash fundraiser to the underclassmen, depriving us seniors of a vital revenue source. This decision significantly impacts our ability to fund essential senior events and undermines the unique experiences we are trying to create.

It's important to understand that while underclassmen certainly benefit from fundraising activities, they will have multiple opportunities in the future to host similar events as they approach their senior years. Meanwhile, this is our last shot, our closing chapter of high school.

We respectfully urge the school administration to reconsider this decision. Instead, let both seniors and underclassmen host separate fundraising initiatives, ensuring that no class is disadvantaged. We need your support to make sure our final year is memorable, one filled with the experiences and celebrations we've looked forward to since the beginning of our high school journey.
