Allow RLP to have access saving Oakwood Theme Park for generations to come!
The Issue
This morning word quickly spread about Aspro Parks, a Spanish company who owned and operated Oakwood Theme Park.
On the 4th March 2025, Aspro Parks announced the immediate closure of the well known Welsh Theme Park and new quickly spread around about this closure and many wanted the park to reopen.
Petitions were started to try get this park back open but Aspro ignored all of it.
Aspro Parks are now currently removing all assets from the park, many of which they did not even introduce to the park and are now having them for themselves to use in their other parks abroad!
Around the 11th May, a local resident started a family group in order to try revive Oakwood Theme Park and completely restore this well loved theme park into a Resort for Wales! This plan that was made by the family under the name of RL Parks totalled to 250 million pounds and would leave Oakwood completely redeveloped and sustainable for years and years to come. Something which Aspro failed at doing.
On the 27th June 2025, after weeks of waiting for a response from Aspro Parks for a confirmation whether they would sell the park to RL Parks. Sadly, Aspro gave a small Email response saying “Oakwood Theme Park is not for sale” this was roughly all that was said and no reason as to why it wasn’t for sale was given! This show the absolute lack of professionalism and communication that Aspro parks gives and won’t allow RL Parks to redevelop Oakwood Theme Park.
Sign this petition to raise awareness of the lack of professionalism and communication that Aspro Parks has and the sneaky way they operate parks and hopefully allow RL Parks to put forward the professional proposal with a sustainable way forward. While Aspro owned Oakwood Theme Park, 25 million pounds were given to the park for investment. Sadly this is no where near enough money for what was needed as this 25 million spread from 2008-2024 and in recent years saw the downfall and troubled effect this lack of investment had.
Let Aspro see how much Oakwood really meant to us!
