Allow Residents to Park on Their Streets Without Time Restrictions

The Issue

I, along with many other residents in our city, have been frustrated with the imposed street parking restrictions. We are compelled by the city to switch parking sides on the street between the hours of 7 am till 9 am and 3 pm till 6 pm. Ostensibly, this is due to street cleaning, but there are no cleaners - it feels merely an efficient method for collection of parking fines.

We lack alternatives for parking, having no home garages or yards. We are left with business lots, but parking there is a risk of getting our vehicles towed. We often have to go outside early in the morning to move our cars to avoid tickets. This daily pressure is unfair, unnecessary, and damaging to the quality of life in our neighborhoods.

A significant number of tickets have been issued as a result of this policy, suggesting this is an issue affecting many in our community. Compounding the hardship, this situation particularly affects those of us who yield to these burdens on weekdays, with weekends being our only respite.

We propose a solution: Grant us permits for street parking if a fee is to be charged. These permits would allow us to park freely without the need for frequent relocations.

Join us in addressing this matter that has affected our community greatly. Demand fair parking permit options for residents. We need your signature and your voice to change this inconvenient policy. Sign the petition today.
