The Issue

As students who deeply care about our mental well-being and overall happiness, we, Mae Adams and Mia Pugh, are reaching out with a heartfelt plea. Our request is simple but incredibly significant to us: allowing our beloved companions, Pippa Grace and Missy, to accompany us on college trips.

Pippa Grace and Missy are more than just pets to us; they are our emotional anchors, our confidantes who provide unwavering support through the ups and downs of college life. Studies have shown that animals can significantly reduce stress levels and help improve mental health outcomes. According to a study by the College Health Association, over 60% of college students reported experiencing overwhelming anxiety. Having Pippa Grace and Missy with us, these numbers could significantly decrease, offering a natural remedy to the ever-present pressures of academic life.

Our college trips are crucial opportunities for both learning and bonding, but they can also be stress-inducing. The presence of animals like Pippa Grace and Missy can transform these experiences into something truly beneficial for our mental health and make these trips a lot more fun! It is well-documented that animals help reduce the feeling of loneliness and promote a sense of safety and comfort, which can lead to better focus and, ultimately, academic success.

While college policies often focus on logistical constraints, there are practical solutions that can enable Pippa Grace and Missy to join these trips without disruption. This could include designated areas for animals, ensuring that those who are allergic or uncomfortable have suitable alternatives. We are more than happy to bring in these dogs to whomever it concerns and show you both their physical training, trust and relatability they both hold, and their loyalty to their owners.

This petition aims to bring about a small but meaningful change that could have a monumental impact on our lives and the lives of other students who might benefit from a similar arrangement. We ask our college administration to consider this request seriously and work with us to create a plan that accommodates the presence of animals on school trips.

By signing this petition, you are helping us advocate for bringing pups on trips! Please sign and support our cause.
