The Issue

This year marks the culmination of our high school journey, an experience that holds a special place in our hearts. However, recent decisions have put a shadow over what should be a memorable celebration for us at the A’takamul International School in Sabah Al Salem, Kuwait.

Our school originally collected money from us to hold our much-anticipated graduation at the grand ARENA stage—a venue that symbolizes success and celebration. It was a promise that added excitement to our final year. Sadly, due to claims from the minister that prevent us from using the ARENA, the school administration decided to relocate the ceremony back to the school's small stage. This decision has been disappointing for both ourselves and our families.

The school's stage is simply inadequate for an event of this significance. It's not only about the aesthetics but also about inclusivity. The venue's limited space means that our graduation would result in the separation of boys and girls, which downplays the importance of unity on such a pivotal day.

We believe there is a solution that honors the essence of our graduation without affiliating with the constraints imposed by the school. By organizing the event independently at the ARENA, we can ensure a meaningful experience that brings all students together, respects the initial intentions, and aligns with our vision for this milestone.

I urge the school faculty and relevant authorities to reconsider their stance and make our graduation ceremony at the ARENA a reality. As well as give us our money back. It is an opportunity to celebrate our accomplishments on a stage that truly reflects the magnitude of this milestone.

Join us in this endeavor. Together, we can make our voices heard and ensure our graduation is celebrated in the manner it deserves. Please sign this petition to help us achieve the graduation day we have all envisioned and worked so hard for.
