The Issue

Many may not know this, but in New York City, Yellow Cabs are not allowed to park in residential driveways. This is a surprising regulation given that these cabs serve as a primary mode of income for many families. Presently, hundreds of drivers are left parking their taxis on the streets, leaving them susceptible to damages and fines. It's estimated there are over 13,000 Yellow Cabs in NYC, showing the scale of the problem (source: Taxi and Limousine Commission). As such, we're calling to change this outdated rule and make it possible for these indispensable workers to park their cabs in their own driveways. After all, these are not just commercial vehicles, but tools that help feed families and send children to school. Therefore, altering this rule would be a great relief to these hardworking individuals who contribute so much to the pulse of the city. So we call on the relevant authorities to revise and relax this regulation, easing the burden on NYC's Yellow Cab drivers. Kindly sign this petition if you believe in fairness and equality for all workers.
