In New York City, currently, there is a wide range of cell phone prohibitions within the school environment. Though it is understandable to remove phones from an educational environment, removing other essentials like laptops is not right. Laptops help keep things organized, easier to find the things students need in a fraction of the time. Not only that, but it especially affects seniors prepping to get ready for college, removing access to their laptops prevents them from working on important applications during their free time in school. Laptops are essential to a learning environment, as they help keep up with teachers who speak immensely fast and improve the quality of life. And with the education system shifting to more of a technological era most assignments are assigned on websites that require some type of device to access. Laptops are important/essential to a school environment, the restrictions on phones are understandable but laptops are just completely outrageous.
