Allow Kinley to Continue Participating in Cheerleading

The Issue

I, as a member of the Santa Clarita community, am writing this petition to express my support for Kinley and her right to continue participating in cheerleading. This petition is personal to me because I have witnessed firsthand the dedication and passion that Kinley has shown as a Warrior cheerleader since 2019.

Kinley's journey in cheerleading has been nothing short of remarkable. Alongside her coach and teammates, she has achieved numerous victories in various competitions. These accomplishments not only showcase her talent but also reflect the hard work and commitment she puts into perfecting her skills.

Moreover, what sets Kinley apart is the strong bond she has formed with her fellow cheerleaders. Among them are six girls who are also classmates from school. The camaraderie they share goes beyond the confines of a team; it extends into their everyday lives, creating friendships that will last a lifetime.

However, despite all these achievements and connections built over time, an unfortunate situation has arisen. Kinley's father has suddenly decided that he no longer approves of her remaining on the team without any valid reason or merit.

It is crucial to recognize that participation in extracurricular activities like cheerleading offers numerous benefits for young individuals like Kinley. According to studies conducted by The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS), students involved in sports or other activities tend to have higher self-esteem, better academic performance, improved time management skills, and increased social interactions.

By allowing Kinley to continue participating in cheerleading with her beloved team at Warriors Cheer, we are not only supporting an individual's passion but also promoting personal growth and overall well-being within our community.

Therefore, I urge you all to sign this petition as a show of support for Kinley’s right to continue participating in cheerleading. Together, let us stand up for the importance of extracurricular activities and the positive impact they have on our youth.

Thank you for your attention and support.

Sincerely,

Anna Higgins, mother of Kinley
