Allow Herby Curby bins for recycling in Windsor Essex County to still be used
Allow Herby Curby bins for recycling in Windsor Essex County to still be used
The Issue
Herby Curby has been a cornerstone in Windsor Essex County for the last 40 years, providing reliable and locally-managed waste solutions. As a resident of this community, I've witnessed firsthand the critical role Herby Curby has played in helping us handle our waste efficiently. Our community takes pride in supporting this locally owned and operated company, and many of us have been loyal customers for decades, relying on their hydraulic lift carts for waste disposal.
Recently, Circular Materials has introduced new recycling bins across our area. While this initiative for improving our recycling infrastructure is commendable, it unfortunately does not address the volume of recyclable materials many households produce. For those of us who generate more recycling waste bi-weekly than a single cart can accommodate, the capability to use Herby Curby bins alongside the new bins would provide much-needed flexibility. Herby Curby's hydraulic lift carts are identical in functionality to those distributed by Circular Materials, making them perfectly suited for integration into the current system.
Incorporating Herby Curby bins into the recycling collection program wouldn't only improve convenience for residents, but would also support this local business and employment within the community. By permitting these additional bins, we harness the full potential of existing infrastructure without incurring unnecessary costs. Moreover, it promotes a symbiotic relationship between newer initiatives likes those from Circular Materials and longstanding local services.
Our community can thrive with the right balance of new approaches and time-tested solutions. Let's urge our local councils and waste management authorities to allow the continued use of Herby Curby bins for recycling. It's time to offer a choice that benefits both our community members and local businesses. Sign this petition to support a more flexible and community-driven recycling program in Windsor Essex County!
