The Issue

Mike Party sent an email to Patrick Peyton (current president of GTCC), Suzie Boyd (most recent president of GTCC) and Jeremy Langdale (COO of GTCC).  I can’t attach documents, so I am just going to copy and paste them.  They were sent the petition below, along with the list of signatures and the break down we had done of combining spouses etc.

  • Full members of Green Tree Country Club in Midland, TX, are facing a significant financial decision without having a voice in the matter. Starting in July 2025, an assessment fee is set to be imposed, impacting all members. This petition seeks to grant these members the right to vote on this assessment fee and ensure that their voices are heard in matters that directly affect them.

Green Tree Country Club has been a longstanding institution in our community, offering an invaluable space for recreation, relaxation, and forming lifelong friendships. For many of our members, the club is not just a place to enjoy leisure activities but a cornerstone of community life. Imposing an assessment fee without member input contradicts the inclusive spirit that the club is known for.

Research suggests that organizations that engage their members or stakeholders in decision-making processes cultivate higher satisfaction and loyalty. Allowing a vote on the assessment fee could not only lead to a more informed decision but also preserve the trust and commitment of the club's members.

We propose that Green Tree Country Club holds a meeting where full members can debate the merits and drawbacks of the new assessment and then cast a vote. This approach will ensure transparency and fairness in leadership decisions.

We urge the Green Tree Country Club board to honor this request for a vote. Full members deserve a seat at the table when decisions of financial consequence are made, ensuring the long-term satisfaction and success of our beloved club.

Sign this petition to empower Green Tree Country Club members with the right to vote on financial matters that impact their lives and sustain the club's legacy for future generations.
