Allow Filipino boys to keep their hair as their right

The Issue

Dear DepEd, we would like to ask a formal request to end the school hair policies in schools (Public and Private) nationwide.

As a 16-year old student of Garden Of Life School in the Philippines, boys are often forced into cutting their hair to fit with the achool's standards.

This causes insecurity in the minds of the students, when they were forced into cutting their own hair without any agreement from the students.

These policies plays a contributor on showing how judgemental our society really is.

Forcing students into considering the hair policy is removing their right to publically express themselves.

Plus, girls are allowed to keep their hair as long, while boys are discouraged from having the same hair rights as girls.

If girls can have long hair, WHY NOT BOYS TOO?

Also, i strive for an accepting society where men and women are equal and free from Toxic Masculinity and Harmful stereotypes.

Now in the 21st century, we don't need anything of what's left of Gender Inequality. It is never fair to follow any regulations that prove discriminatory to all human beings.

All male students should believe that your hair length and type cannot define your learning and working abilities. It is the time to realize and remove those harmful stereotypes.

Not only intented to be effective on schools but on workplaces too.
