Studies have shown that direct-to-consumer sales like those at farmstands can effectively quadruple a farmer's revenue compared to wholesale markets.

Furthermore, farmstands significantly contribute to the local economy by ensuring the money spent stays within the community. According to the USDA, every $1 spent at a local farmstand generates up to $2.56 in local economic activity. The City of Frostproof has the opportunity to follow this example, by embracing farmstands and promoting small-scale agriculture within its limits. This change would not only benefit individual farmers but also enrich the community socially and economically.

We are urging Frostproof officials to reconsider the current restrictions and allow farmstands to operate within city limits. By modifying these outdated rules, Frostproof can embrace the vibrant agricultural scene and ensure that residents have access to the healthiest, freshest produce possible.
