Make Creativity in Education Compulsory.

Young minds are being developed through education to become good workers and not creative thinkers. There is nothing wrong with good work, but when creativity is not being nurtured, it sabotages young people who have restless minds and bodies. This same restlessness displays the vast amounts of creative energy dwelling inside them. If these children's minds and bodies aren't set free to channel their creativity, it can become a problem. Through creativity, youth can/will/are finding a voice in which they are free to follow their dreams, their ambitions and becoming the people they are.
Let us remove the pages of lines that they are asked to write on. Ask the youth what interests them and let them be taught on that. Let's stop those teachers who pose as authority figures, intimidating and brainwashing children into thinking only how they do. Let there be provision of blank paper, pencils, computers, paints, crayons, clay, musical instruments, spaces to move in, tools and toys, and make it something essential that children should create. They should draw, they should play, they should make the music they enjoy, and they should dance to the music they love.
Respect the personality and creativity of children. The willingness that regardless if they don’t know, they still do. The fact that they are not scared or afraid to be wrong. Let us nurture that, nurture this very moment, and allow the youth to express themselves now truthfully. Encourage truthful expression now for the safety of their future. Encourage children to be who they are growing up to be instead of trying to form them and mould them into the product of an educational instuition. Moulding them into the moulds of their parents, teachers or ancestors.
Let creativity in education be an integral part of the learning process up until school leaving age.
Let creativity in these young minds be nurtured whether that may still be through core subjects such as English, Maths, Science, but nurture and let them find their own way in learning and in that comes the creation of a new intervention of learning which can change other's lives.
I've seen people go through this current education system up until school leaving age. I’ve been through the process myself. It has its up and it has its real downs. I've experienced the impact that education has had on me, it has been extremely beneficial, but I wouldn't be the half person I am without the gift of creativity that I found now at the end of my first year at university. I am a living testimony that through finding your passion, it changes everything and I am 100% sure there are many others out there. As creativity flourishes, so does joy, peace, harmony and love and so much more positive strongholds. Through these things, we find resolve. Through creativity, we discover and realise the young innovative minds in our communities, in society who will not just work in jobs, but create careers out of their found creativity. They will be the leaders of the next generation.
I quote Pablo Picasso when he said ‘Every child is an artist, the problem is staying an artist, when you grow up.’ and I follow that with my own statement now:
‘Unearth any buried creativity, let it roam free, so that you may find your passion and in your passion, find something deeper than happiness, that sweetness of true joy.'
