Allow Charles P Allen High School students to buy what they want from the cafeteria

Allow Charles P Allen High School students to buy what they want from the cafeteria
The Issue
I am a student at Charles P Allen high school in Bedford, NS, Canada. Our cafeteria has always been a place where we could enjoy our favourite chocolate food items and juice. However, starting from the new year, these beloved items will no longer be available for purchase. This decision not only affects our freedom of choice but also impacts the income of our hardworking cafeteria staff.
We are young adults; many of us have licenses and can make informed decisions about what we consume. The removal of chocolate food items, hash browns, juice, bacon, and cookies from our cafeteria menu seems unnecessary when most students are capable of deciding whether they want something sugary or not.
Furthermore, it's worth noting that according to Statistics Canada (2019), the majority of Canadian teenagers have an understanding of healthy eating habits. We should be trusted with making decisions about what we eat or drink during school hours.
The change in policy also has financial implications for our school's cafeteria staff who rely on selling these popular items for additional income. By removing them from the menu, their earnings may significantly decrease.
We urge the administration at Charles P Allen high school to reconsider this decision and allow students to choose whether they want to purchase chocolate food items or juice at school again. Please sign this petition if you believe in giving us back our choice!
