India is one of the hottest countries in the world. Every summer, temperatures cross 40–50°C in many cities.
Yet, car owners in India are forced to drive under direct sunlight, even after paying: 

Heavy GST on vehicles (up to 28% + cess)
Road tax
Fuel taxes
Toll charges

Despite all this, we are denied basic heat protection inside our own vehicles.

🚗 What is the problem?

In 2012, after the Supreme Court ruling, a blanket ban was imposed on all aftermarket window films (tinted glasses), regardless of their quality or visibility.
Today:
Even high-visibility, heat-rejecting films are illegal
Even if they are safer and clearer than factory glass
Police often remove them without even checking visibility

🌡️ Real Impact on Citizens

This decision affects millions of Indians daily:
Extreme cabin heat → discomfort & fatigue
Increased AC usage → higher fuel consumption
Direct UV exposure → health risks (skin & eye damage)
Children and elderly suffer the most
Women lose privacy in public spaces

⚖️ We understand safety concerns
Yes, the ban was introduced for:
Preventing crime
Ensuring visibility for law enforcement
But a complete ban is not the solution.

🌍 What other countries do

Most countries allow regulated window films, such as:
Minimum 70% Visible Light Transmission (VLT)
Certified, non-reflective, high-clarity films
Strict penalties for illegal dark tints

👉 Regulation works better than prohibition.

We respectfully urge the Government of India to:
Allow certified heat-rejecting window films with minimum VLT (e.g., 70%)
Introduce standard certification & QR-based verification
Equip enforcement with proper VLT measuring devices
Penalize only illegal / overly dark films, not compliant citizens

This is not about luxury.
This is about basic comfort, health, and fairness.
If factory-fitted tinted glass is allowed,
👉 why deny the same benefit to millions who cannot afford premium cars?
