The Issue

Cash, my beloved dog, has been a source of immense joy and positivity in our community in Bend, OR. His friendly demeanor and well-behaved nature have always been evident in public spaces, where he interacts warmly with people and other animals alike. Despite his usual composure, a recent incident occurred where Cash bit a stranger who was on our property. However, it's crucial to highlight that this was an isolated event triggered by his instinct to protect me. The bite was minor, causing no injury or requiring medical attention. Because of the bite that occurred, Cash now faces a legal fee and 5 year probation period where if he is reported by anyone in Bend for ANY reason, the city of Bend will remove him from our care.

In Bend, OR, where community spirit is cherished, Cash has become well-known for his positive behavior. Those familiar with him can attest to his friendliness and how safe he is to have off-leash in designated areas. His actions in the public eye have proven time and again that he is neither violent nor dangerous.

We are seeking signatures from those who can personally vouch for Cash's good behavior to serve as evidence of his suitability for off-leash activities. Allowing Cash to enjoy the freedom of off-leash areas is not just a matter of his wellbeing but also a testament to responsible pet ownership in Bend.

Please lend your support by signing this petition, so Cash can continue to be part of the vibrant, dog-loving community of Bend, enjoying the public spaces where he belongs. Your signature can help ensure that Cash is recognized for his true nature—a loving, protective companion who loves his community.
