Allow Bicycle Mechanics to work at home

Allow Bicycle Mechanics to work at home
The Issue
Hello everyone, my name is Ryan Richter and a lot of you may know me as Scarborough's Bike Doctor. I have been working for a long time to make a service I know can be something big for the world and for the environment.
EDIT: we were covered by City News Speakers Corner.
https://toronto.citynews.ca/2023/07/26/speakers-corner-home-bike-repair-shop-at-risk/
What do I do?: Save bicycles from the junk yard, utilize and refurbish parts that are headed for the landfill or into a scrap heap. We help keep as much as we can on the road and functional for a longer period of time than the major department stores would like them too.
My service allows New Canadians to get something affordable or have something fixed safely to help build their lives in this beautiful land we call home! We even get quite a few people from shelters that NEED our service to even have a way to search for a job or something of the sort to help themselves get back on their feet.
Why am I here?: Its simple. For quite some time, I've been doing this peacefully and bothering no one, now the complex where I reside and operate this from my backyard is forcing us to shut down. To this point, we have done everything we can for people to get safe and affordable repairs to stay moving and motivated in life. I also have a very bad leg issue that causes me immense pain and I have had 2 surgeries for this problem but this is all I am able to do for work.
Our Goal: We are asking Mayor Chow to change the bylaw around bicycle service from your home and set fair guidelines for operation. There is no logical reason to prevent people from fixing bicycles from their garage/backyard.
If people can bake, cook and distribute food via social media from home without a permit, how does what I am doing have more potential to harm people than that? I help people, as much as possible. People who need bicycles and an environment that needs bicycles.
If you believe in our goal to fight waste and senseless bureaucracy please sign this petition.
(P.S. This is from the heart. I have been told so many times this business wouldn't work, it wasn't a real job, but I've created something that can change the way people see bicycles. A service that goes beyond bicycles, a service that truly understands. My leg injury is from a bicycle accident as a child, so I'm well aware what a bad bike can do to you. I truly care about people being safe and making a brighter, greener tomorrow. If not for anything else, please sign for this reason alone)
Thank you, everyone.
If you'd like to do more, we have a GoFundMe set up to raise the funds required to open a shop. All Bicycles sold on our website right now will help us open a bicycle shop to keep helping a community that needs us.
All Bicycles/e-Bikes purchased on https://www.theupcycle.ca will go towards us opening a shop to continue to help our community
