The Issue

I am an individual whose life has greatly benefited from the use of Pinterest. The platform has played an indispensable role in my life, enabling me to stay organized and maintain moral through sorting boards. Pinterest, as you may know, is an essential tool for learning and innovation. It provides millions of creative ideas, guides, and visual tools helpful for any individual in a variety of fields. Many students and creative individuals rely on Pinterest as a crucial part of their creative process and academic pursuits. However, my school has restricted access to Pinterest on school computers. This poses a significant obstacle for me and many other students who use this platform as a tool for organizing, learning, and improving our morale.

According to the Hootsuite annual report of 2020, Pinterest has approximately 442 million active users worldwide. It proves the vast global community it has built and the integral part it plays in enriching online resources. (Source: Hootsuite Annual Report, 2020). Hence, denying access to Pinterest is not just about blocking a website; it's about denying students an invaluable tool for learning, organizing, and creativity.

We thus call upon the school administration to lift the ban and allow access to Pinterest on school computers. We believe that doing so will enhance the learning experience and contribute significantly to the personal and academic development of students. Please lend your signature to support this cause.

We, the school body, recognize this may seem insignificant to you, the school board, the non-educator adult, the teacher, or whom-ever you may be, but to us, Pinterest is the only source of  dopamine left. We beg you, please. lift the block of our beloved Pinterest. one of my dear, close friends uses Pinterest for one of her classes daily and finds it increadibly hard to work without the inspiration. I myself find it hard to work without the motivation and inspiration in my creative classes as well, its not just "social media", its a learning tool.
