My 15-year-old brother, Billy Hayden Jeffery Ledoux, was brutally murdered in a park in Abbotsford BC, a place that should have been safe for him and others.

His life was cruelly cut short, leaving our family devastated. We want to honor his memory and ensure he is not forgotten by placing a permanent memorial bench in the park where he spent his last moments. However, the city has refused our request.

A memorial bench serves as a symbol of remembrance and a place for family and friends to find solace. It's a gesture that can turn a site of tragedy into one of peace. 

This is why we implore the city's leaders to reconsider their decision and allow us to install a memorial bench. Such decisions impact not only the immediate family but also friends, neighbors, and community members who share in the grief of losing a young life in such a tragic manner.
