Allotment on Common Merit List (on bonus marks), Conduct Second Round & Allow Upgradation

The Issue

We are raising our voice for the following three crucial demands:

1. Allotment Based on Common Merit List:

All Senior Residency seats should be allotted purely on the basis of a common merit list, based on NEET PG rank/bonus marks at which candidates secured their PG seats.

2. Conduct Second Round and Allow Upgradation:

Many candidates are forced to accept their initial allotment without the possibility of upgradation in subsequent rounds. We demand that the SR counselling process must include a second round with a fair upgradation option, just like in PG and UG counselling.

This would ensure that deserving candidates are not locked into less preferred or peripheral institutes without a chance to move to available higher-preference seats.

3. Restore Original Seat Matrix:

There has been a sudden and unexplained reduction in SR seats across multiple departments and colleges.

For example, Pediatrics at SMS Medical College Jaipur had 16 SR seats previously — this year it was cut down to just 7. Similar reductions have occurred across the state, shrinking opportunities for qualified candidates. We request the government to restore the original seat matrix and ensure that all sanctioned posts are made available in counselling.

This is not just a demand — it is a call for fairness, equality, and transparency. We request the medical education authorities and the Rajasthan government to urgently address these issues and provide a level playing field for all candidates.

Support our petition and help us bring justice to the SR counselling process in Rajasthan.
