All We Want for Christmas is a Public Swimming Pool!

All We Want for Christmas is a Public Swimming Pool!
The Issue
Four years ago, our town raised their voices together to champion the water safety needs of our Maritime City and request that Peninsula Metropolitan Parks conduct an aquatic center feasibility study for our local area. After hearing from so many community members (including you!), along with the Peninsula School District, Gig Harbor Fire, the Tom Taylor YMCA, and more, the PenMet Board approved the feasibility study for a public aquatic facility. The study concluded in 2023 that not only is a public aquatic facility feasible for our Gig Harbor area, but it is also desired.
Now that PenMet Park's Recreation Center is completed, it is time to make the next dream for our community a reality. This holiday season, let's put a public aquatic facility back at the top of our community's priority list! By signing this petition, you are reminding our community leaders (specifically, the PenMet Parks Board members), that their constituents are still calling for a safe, public place where our children can learn how to swim; where our seniors can access water aerobics; where our local aquatic sports teams can practice.
Water safety needs to continue to be a priority for our Maritime City. Let's come together and build the public aquatic facility that our water-based town deserves!
