As per the government's policy of amalgamation of public sector banks, Syndicate bank merges with Canara Bank at the stroke of midnight today 31.3.20.

A bank with existence,history,culture and service to the nation for 95 long years will no longer exist tomorrow. Merger of the banks need not and should not eliminate the identity of one Bank nor should Canara bank after the merger continue with its own identity, despite almost 45% of the new entity being made up of the huge effort, decades of sacrifices and devotion by thousands of employees.

While a new Name for the new entity rule have been fair, yet it is not as easily done as said. Legal and other considerations make it a complex issue.

However to keep up the spirits of the thousands of employees and customers of Syndicate bank, keep their morale high, Canara BANK should do some thing that will provide the optics to assauge their feelings  

I suggest that the symbol of the Dog that symbolises the "faithful and friendly" spirit of Syndicate Bank should be incorporated in the Logo of Canara Bank. 

May the spirit continue even after the bank's name ceases to exist.

I appeal to all employees of the Bank, ex employees, all customers and other people to support me successfully pettition. And achieve the goal.
