Kalamazoo, Michigan is home to a great number of both new and experienced young persons that take a peculiar fascination of the wondrous and mind boggling sport, know as Skateboardeing.

Upjohn park has been the home base and safe space of said Kalamazoo Skaters and has been a huge part in keeping them occupied and safe from the harms of the unknown street dangers. The Skatepark has provided an amassed amount of positive energy and change as people continue to pursue their journey to freedom. As more and more citizens become interested and embraced in the complicated art of the board-on-wheels, they require more space for practicing their skills and newer elements to challenge them and further themselves, in mastering this sport. 

I strongly believe that Upjohn Skatepark is in need of something new and unique, for the boarding community. I feel as though it will not only lift the improve, but immerse a newfound view and appreciation for the park itself, for the whole city.

As a fellow members of the Sports-on-Wheels community, I can say that this expansion to the Skatepark could be and is an excellent idea.
