A developer for the owner of the properties which are the historic heart of our town, Glastonbury, Connecticut has petitioned the Town Planning and Zoning Commission (TPZ) for demolition of our historic buildings (in process for Historic Designation -- but not in time to save the day here; so this petition is necessary and critical now)!  If you need more information than that:  please see the full report of events in the Glastonbury Citizen 30SEP2021, p. 6 Guest Editorial (Republicans and Democrats are united on this) as signed by Town Councilmen Kurt Cavanaugh and Tom Gullotta (respectively).

The old Gaines Hotel and Curtis Wright House is from the 1700s, and currently houses some of our favorite businesses: The Mahogany Shoppe, the Bridal Shoppe, the Village Wool, The Best Wine Shoppe, Evets Glass Works; and the old Kamins Building houses the good Cycling Concepts Shop (who refurbished our original hardwood floors to an epic shine.  Remember how you now love and have enjoyed shopping there in these past 100 years?  Halt the demolition!  It's the heart of our town, our home, our charm, and soon to be our Historic Designation.  But we need your signature.  Please sign this petition for presentation to our TPZ now!  We have less than 90-days.
