This school,  named after confederate president Jefferson Davis and confederate general Robert E. Lee, is disgraceful and dishonorable. There is no heritage in the name of this school. Since 1959 this school has projected and inserted institutionalized racism into the minds and hearts of its students. I’m calling for the renaming of this institution so that my generation as well as those of the future do not have to tolerate the insensitive, demeaning, and offensive nature of going to a school with this name.
