All major streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu should add a feature that allows the user to make playlists of their favorite shows, and then shuffle episodes within those playlists. This feature would add to the streaming services in the sense that they would feel more like cable tv in a way. A shuffle feature is great for shows that are not a long over-arching story (Family guy, Always Sunny, The Simpsons, Chappelle's Show, Jeopardy). I myself find it hard to decide what to watch, when I have to decide on the exact episode. It would be a far more enjoyable experience if I were able to just pick a playlist of my favorite shows and just watch random episodes, as though I were watching regular cable tv. Even the streaming services would benefit, in that this will be an incentive for users to drop cable tv entirely and use video streaming exclusively.
