Allow your citizens to return home, do not shut them out!

The Issue

Covid-19 is a global issue. All countries are dealing with the outbreak as best as they can to keep their people alive. The challenge is taking a toll on especially expatriates in foreign countries that are losing their jobs and being evicted from the rental homes. For example, the Cayman Island’s’ government is doing a tremendous job at assisting expatriates that are suffering from job losses due to covid-19 and are now even homeless. But we need to be considerate that the resources may soon become limited and it is unfair to place such responsibilities on a country because the government of these persons homeland are refusing to let them in.
Most government are trying to assist these persons the best they can. However, they can only do so much. Most of these expatriates would be in a better position “at this time” if they are allowed to return to their homeland. For example, some of these expatriates are home owners in their own country so they would not have an issue with a place to stay.

There are many expatriates that desire to return to their home country and are willing to comply with whatever rules are laid out as a condition of preventing the spread of Covid-19. I believe it is their right and that they should be allowed to return home. The leaders of these countries all need to make arrangements to quarantine these persons in an effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19. But do not close the borders on your people! Find a way to test them, quarantine and retest them.
Allow your people to return home!
