Allow the local Fire Chief the FULL AUTHORITY to STOP A CONCERT when lives are in jeopardy
By now everyone has heard of the tragic events that took place last Friday 11/5 in Houston TX that took the lives of 8 innocent concert goers between 14-27 years of age and left hundreds injured or hospitalized, including an 8 year old child who recently had to be placed in a medically induced coma. Regardless of the outcome of the Federal Investigation under way, the countless lawsuits, and claims of "not knowing" there was a crisis at hand, we need to ensure those whose primary duties are public safety and have the training and experience to identify a dangerous situation have the tools and resources to take Situational Command over a concert venue and shut it down if deemed in the best interest of saving lives. The Astroworld concert continued for over 30 MINUTES after officials declared a mass casualty event at the festival (CNN) so I am asking all concert venues and promoters to unequivocally and immediately agree to work with local fire and public safety departments to allow the fire chief or other appropriate authority personnel to shut down a concert if lives are in danger or a verified public threat is determined.
Nationalworld.com says this was one of the "deadliest music events in US history." Let's petition to prevent another tragedy from happening.
