Trigger warning

We are in the midst of a cultural revolution, the likes of which the world has never seen. We are on the cusp of removing white supremacy and creating a more free/equal world. We would like to thank Ms. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for her tireless strength and bravery during these turbulent times, however we ask her to take a stand and renounce her last name. We in no way cast any blame on Ms. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for the crimes of the brutal tyrant Hernán Cortés, we just feel that due to her position of power combined with the last name it is culturally insensitive. Hernán Cortés was a genocidal racist who speared headed the destruction of the the Aztec empire and the eventual rape and murder of millions of indigenous peoples. The ripples of his crimes against humanity can still be felt today.  We humbly ask that Ms. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez take some time to reflect on our request and become the leader we need.
