Publicly Acknowledge and Apologize for "Breaker of Chains" rape scene.

The Issue

In April 20th's episode of Game of Thrones, "Breaker of Chains", Jamie Lannister maliciously and unforgivably rapes his sister Cersei. This is completely unfaithful to the original storyline that the show claims to honor and follow. The  change is especially heinous because when Jaime's character first protects another female from being sexually assaulted (Brienne of Tarth), but then proceeds to rape his own sister (a far less likeable character), it sets forth the precedent that some people "deserve" to be raped. Though director Alex Graves claims the sex "becomes consensual by the end because anything for them ultimately results in a turn-on, especially a power struggle”, Cersei is clearly rejecting her brother's advances and physically fighting him off throughout the entire rape scene. This is incredibly disturbing on many levels, but mostly because the writers and director have taken a consentual scene from the book and turned it into a misogynistic and brutal violation

The unneccsarry inclusion and blatant denial that the scene depicted a rape is an insult and an injustice to all survivors of sexual assault.

We demand the the director and writers associated with "Breaker of Chains" formally appologize and acknowledge the rape scene they protrayed.
