I would like the current schemes to be extended due to Covid19. These schemes can still benefit a lot of people in the UK however the pandemic has slowed everything down and is causing many people to miss out. 

The 'Help to Buy Scheme' is a shared ownership scheme were you can buy as little as 25% or as much as 75% of a home and pay rent on the rest this ends on 31/03/2020 and becomes for first time buyers only, and then ends in March 2023.

The 'Equity Loan Scheme', has been extended until 31/05/2021 and will then be open to first-time buyers only and will be available for a further two years.

I would like to appeal to the government to leave both schemes open (for second time buyers) for a further 6 months to allow for the delays in marketing your own property and exchanging contracts, due to a shortage of contractors, surveyors and staff working in estate agencies. 

My personal situation is that I live in a flat and most of the grounds are communal areas with lots of noise from other properties and AirBnb and Booking.com tenants who have never read the lease/deeds. I have 2-5 new neighbours a week from two adjoining properties, during the pandemic I have seen an increase in this movement.

Being isolated during Covid has made me review my life. I would like to buy a new build home. These schemes are the only support I can use to move ahead in my life.
