This past August thousands of families were required to accept Chromebooks in to their homes so their children could go to school online. Unfortunately parents are not allowed to install parental controls and the ones provided by the school district cannot be used before 4:30 pm. Children are therefore able to access pornography through sites like band.us and other commonly used websites during school hours and parents do not have the ability to block these websites. 

Please sign this petition if you think that parents should have more control over their children's safety. Please sign this petition if you think that parents should be able to protect their students from websites they know are both distracting and dangerous. 

Shellmarie Harris is the Executive Director of Educational Technology, and has the power to expand parental control's before 4:30 pm. She has refused to do so after repeated complaints from parents and staff.
