Ms. Mary M. Doyle de Ponce has been teaching at Miami Springs Senior High School since 1985. In this time, she has made a large impact on not only her students, but her coworkers and the parents of her students. She is always encouraging, has participated in all fundraisers, and has helped the school receive thousands of dollars in grants. This is her last year before retirement. Though she has to finish in December, she had asked for an extension to finish off the school year, but was unfairly declined with no explanation. If she takes her leave in December, we and the rest of her students would have a substitute teacher take her place, who would most likely give us busy work rather than fully and carefully teach us. Our goal with this petition, is to get Miami Dade County Public Schools to allow our amazing teacher to finish her last school year at Miami Springs Senior High school.
