Justice For Paco The Dog Beaten To Death - Soldotna AK NO Plea Deal for Samuel Lee Stroer

Justice For Paco The Dog Beaten To Death - Soldotna AK NO Plea Deal for Samuel Lee Stroer
The Issue
No Plea Bargain Deals should be granted for Defendant Samuel Lee Stroer Case # 3KN-15-01541CR Alaskans Are Standing Up For Paco the dog beaten to death in Soldotna Alaska not only to demand Justice For Paco but also because this case Must Set A Precedent for future cases in our State. This effects ALL of Alaska as Felony protection of cruelty to animals is a rather new law. A Bethel Man who last year beat a small breed dog to death with a Flashlight Plead down to a Misdemeanor and sentenced to 180 days in jail. We Need this more egregious case to go to Jury Trial NO Plea Deals! While we as Alaskans appreciate the time the Attorney General, District Attorneys, Prosecutors and Judges spend in our courts each day, we believe the FBI is correct in stating animal cruelty is an early indicator of more violent crime. We the people of Alaska ask this case not be afforded a plea to misdemeanor status. The Alaska Statute AS 11.61.140. is clear in the case, supporting Felony Animal Cruelty. The case against Defendant Samuel Lee Stroer should be heard by a jury of his peers and the evidence should be seen. If the defendant should choose to plead guilty to the existing felony charges we support that as long as sentencing and records reflect the maximum allowable sentence and Felony Conviction. Please think heavily against any plea agreement to lesser charges. I would ask his extensive prior crimes in the Alaska court systems, which include Domestic Violence and Felony Charges dating back to 1988, be considered as evidence this defendant should not be considered a light offender in our State. Additionally, if found guilty in additional to jail time, the defendant should be made to pay for the veterinary bills incurred at the Soldotna Animal Hospital where “Paco” was euthanized do the the severity of his injuries, and be prohibited from ownership, possession, or custody of animals for 10 years as per AS 11.61.140 (f)
