Keep the man who bombed a church and killed four girls behind bars

Keep the man who bombed a church and killed four girls behind bars

The Issue

On September 15, 1963, an African-American church was bombed, killing 4 girls: Addie Mae Collins, 14; Cynthia Wesley, 14; Carole Robertson, 14; and Carol Denise McNair, 11. The act of violence griped the country. Now, the last surviving man convicted of the bombing is up for parole and your help is needed to make sure he doesn’t go free.

Thomas E. Blanton Jr. was one of three men convicted of the bombing. The Klansman was only brought to justice in 2001, decades after the girls lost their lives. For years, Blanton lived free while loved ones mourned and wondered if the people behind the bombing would ever pay for their heinous crime.

15 years in prison is not punishment enough for perpetrating a hate crime that cost four girls their lives. Tell the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles to deny Thomas Blanton Jr. parole.
