Change the dress code for boys hair at American Leadership Academy

The Issue

The dress code for boys at American Leadership Academy is very restrictive. It makes sure boys can not have hair touching their ears or collar. The use of a hair tie is not allowed. Students have to have short hair, that's it. This is extremely unfair and sexist as the girls are allowed to have hair of all different lengths to express themselves. For the boys, limiting their hair is not only an inconvenience but it is difficult to enforce for the teachers and administration. All we are asking is to take away the length rule nothing else. (This is not approved by ALA)

UPDATE:

Hey it’s Christian, this has blown up way out of proportion, in one day we hit over 500 signs!! It’s crazy what you can do when you stand up and be a leader. I have been going to ALA for several years hand it has done great things for my life! I love the environment and the positive energy at the school. That’s why I don’t want to ever leave this school. The only thing I have a problem with is the hair dress code. I’ve tried my best to stay in the parameters. All that this petition is asking for is to change the length allowed for boys hair. It’s NOT an anti-ala statement. If I didn’t like the school I would just leave. I just wanted to see what could happen if you stood up for something that you believed in. I’m sorry if this made anyone upset because it wasn’t supposed to, it was only supposed to show how many people (students and parents) disagreed with this rule in a more civil manner. On that note thanks so much everyone! I’ve already been to a private meeting with the principal. Be a leader and stand out!
