Mrs Akosua Serwaa Fosuh lawfully married her late husband Daddy Lumba in Germany. This marriage is legally binding and exclusive under German law, meaning her husband could not legally marry another woman while still married to her.
However, on the 28th November 2025,Ghana, the High Court recently refused to recognise her as the sole surviving spouse because it could not verify her German issued marriage certificate. This has infringed her legal rights, denied her rightful recognition, and placed her at a serious disadvantage in legal matters.

We call on the German Embassy in Accra to:
Verify the authenticity of Ms. Serwaa’s German marriage certificate.

Provide an official confirmation or letter affirming the legality and validity of her marriage.

Assist the Ghanaian High Court or guide Mrs Serwaa in presenting this verification, so her legal rights as the only lawful spouse are upheld.

Justice must be done, and a legally valid marriage should be recognised and respected. By signing this petition, you are demanding the German Embassy step in to protect Mrs Serwaa’s lawful rights and ensure fair treatment.
