The AKFCS Board of Trustee approved during their 10/28 Board meeting to spend up to $42,000 of school funding to hire a search firm to identify a new Executive Director. This a waste of time, funds and is concerning as we may lose a very effective leader. Ms. Paluk who is doing a fantastic job, bringing a calm, clear and firm approach to this school.

Spending funds for this search during this time seems frivolous and unnecessary. Creating instability and uncertainty for the future of our teachers and students who desperately need the leadership, which Ms. Paluk has gracefully provided. 

These funds are better appropriated to support our teachers and students with the supplies and materials necessary to assist our children to be successful during this school year and the future.

We are asking you to support the request to stop the search and provide the opportunity to Ms. Paluk to apply for the position, potentially saving our school from spending excessive funds for a unnecessary search.
