When I walk through the halls of our school, one of the first things I notice are the posters on the walls, whether that be a poster for flag football, information about guidance counselors, or something as simple as a poster for the upcoming football game . These are  designed with creativity and passion by students. However, I've recently become concerned about the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in areas where students can shine through their talents.

We have AMAZING programs that encourage students to express their skills like journalism band, art, and many others. Yet I've noticed some teachers are opting to use AI for tasks like making a simple post about winning a football game or posting about an upcoming event, thus sidelining student involvement. This not only diminishes the opportunities for students to engage in hands-on projects but also undermines the very spirit of our educational goals.

AI should have no place in schools and we should definitely not be allowing a simple football post to be depicting young girls as GROWN women as in a recent post about winning an away game there were girls being shown in a inappropriate manner 

Teachers also encourage us to not use AI in assignments and I believe that is completely fair. Nobody should be using AI to learn in school. But then they go and use AI for different things

It is completely hypocritical and unfair I have had multiple people reach out and tell me all kinds of different stories

I’ve had a couple people reach out to me and tell me that they would love to have a job in graphic design, but they feel like if they got a degree in it AI would replace them

Not only is AI harming the planet but it is stealing jobs from people

Let us take a stand to safeguard the creative opportunities that define our school's spirit. Sign this petition to encourage no AI use, to keep the essence of student participation alive and thriving.
