There are many players across the state of Alabama and in the United States who are impacted negatively due to the delay of their season because of the Corona Virus. Their season is threatened to be canceled. This would keep hundreds of high school seniors across all spring sports in the state of Alabama from receiving scholarships which helps their families pay for their college. This is not just a matter of what they want, but also a matter of the years of hard work they’ve put in to get to the point where they commit collegiately. I, luckily, will be able to see 2 more years of high school sports. Sadly, I have friends that this was their last year to prove something and I have witnessed how it has affected their mood and lives dramatically. It’s everything to them. If the spring sports were to be canceled for this year in the state of Alabama, many coaches would get their pay cut short along with many bus drivers. We want as many people as possible to sign this petition to send to AHSAA to influence their decision in continuing our season. We understand there is a delay, but a delay is not a cancellation. With that said, before AHSAA makes a decision, we want to make the difference. Please join the movement and sign this petition to help us finish out our season. Many seniors have come way too far and worked way too hard to come short. After all, what’s a senior year without one last ride.
