With this petition I am wanting to gauge a number of how many people in the New Zealand Floorball community would be keen to transition from personalised jerseys with names to numbered jerseys for all tournaments, such as Men's, Women's, 3v3 and U19 competitions.

How it would work is for each tournament, players would be loaned game jerseys and shorts to use during matches and return afterward. This approach enhances cost efficiency, simplifies management, and promotes environmental sustainability

The goal is to gather as many signatures as possible to potentially help drive this conversation in a positive direction.

My main 3 reasonings are:

Cost Efficiency: Standard jerseys are more affordable, reducing financial strain on families and players.

Simplified Management: Numbered jerseys can be easily assigned, accommodating last-minute roster changes and the stress of last-minute orders for teams as I have seen many times in the past.

Environmental Sustainability: Reusing jerseys minimizes waste, aligning with eco-friendly practices by reducing the need for new uniforms each tournament.

Multiple other teams within the Floorball community from other countries such as Sweden, Switzerland, Latvia and other countries have done this for some tournaments depending on age group and types of tournaments.

I understand players are hoping to keep some sort of memory piece from representing the country however I think the training kit that everyone gets for each tournament is sufficient and most people wear outside compared to full kit. 

To compromise, there could be the option of providing a pair of training shorts to players to keep in place of the personalised game jerseys and shorts. But this doesn't have to be what happens is just and idea. Even one debut jersey to keep could be an option. The main point of this is for loaned game kit for tournaments.

By supporting this petition, we can work towards a more sustainable, cost-effective, and efficient approach for National Floorball tournaments.
