Aeroflot refuse to refund for flight cancellation
The issue
I and my wife planned to travel in Russia and bought flight tickets with Aeroflot airline. The flight was May 1,2020. But due to Covid-19, the airline announced flight cancellation. I called them to get my money back, the call-centre agreed and told me to send information to their email. I sent email and waited because I knew there were lots of passengers in the same situation. Now the airline denied to refund money but will give the voucher instead. I found out there is a big group of people are facing this frustration like me. We were good clients trying to follow the refund queue but our 3 months waiting is useless. Aeroflot changed their policy and announced that passengers have purchased a ticket after the 31 of may they can apply for a refund, BUT the passengers have purchased a ticket up to the 31 of may can only apply for a voucher. How on earth the people who bought tickets after us get the money back but we don't! It is so unfair!! Moreover Covid-19 is still everywhere and many passengers like me don't live in Russia and surely have no plan to travel abroad for a big while. It's not safe. Aeroflot should refund money to me and other passengers.
